| MIDIRingTones - Motorola T731
User Guide
Overview
The MIDIRingTones application allows you to download mobile entertainment
to your phone. On your Motorola T731 you can download polyphonic
ringtones, audio ringtones and wallpaper.
The great part about using the US Cellular Download Shop is that
you don’t need anything except your cellular phone to preview, purchase,
and enjoy mobile entertainment.
The purpose of this manual is to give you a general overview and
a few pointers on using the MIDIRingTones application. If you ever
get stuck, just give us a holler at brewsupport@midiringtones.com!
Getting Started
The first step is to get MIDIRingTones onto your phone. Once you
have selected the US Cellular Download Shop on your phone, select
the ringtone category and look for the MIDIRingTones Application.
You will be required to purchase credits at this point. Put simply,
one credit equals one ringtone. We give you a few choices, but
the more credits you buy the better deal it becomes (and we will
all be happier for it).
After this the application will be downloaded to your phone. This
may take a minute, but fear not, it only has to be downloaded once.
After that you are ready to start the MIDIRingTones application
and start surfing for that killer tone.
Menu Choices
Ringtones
If you are looking
for a new ringtone for your phone, this is a great place to start!
After selecting the ringtone option the application will download
a list of categories to choose from. This will take a few seconds
but it assures you that you always have the latest and greatest
ringtones to choose from.
Now you need to choose a category. If you are just browsing you
may want to look at the latest and most popular categories. If
you are like us you will go straight to the 80’s and look for hair
bands, but that is just us. You have thousands of ringtones to
choose from so take a look around have some fun.
Fox Music
Fox Music has so many
cool songs that they deserve to be highlighted. After you select
Fox Music you will find some of your favorite Fox TV and movie themes
just a button press away. Everything from The Simpsons to
Bernie Mac right at your finger tips!
Audio Tones
What is an audio
tone? It is a ringtone made with actual audio. For example, with
audio tones you can have actual music, people talking, ducks quacking,
whatever. This is the section to browse when you want something
different. With hundreds of choices like “Help I’m trapped in your
pocket” and three different ways to hear a dog bark you are sure
to find a way to set your phone apart from the crowd.
Wallpaper
After selecting wallpaper
you will get a category listing. From there you will get a list
of wallpapers for a specific category. To save time downloading
they will just be shown as text. Fear not, if you click on one
you can preview it right there on your phone. One thing to note
is the graphic is shown as a standard “bitmap” on the phone while
using the application but when purchased it will be saved as a GIF
(Graphic Interchange Format). This shouldn’t change anything but
it could look slightly different when you purchase it.
Search
Use this option to search
for ringtones and audio tones. To search, type in the first few
letters of the title or the artist name and click Select. Keep
in mind that you can’t search for wallpapers (they are pictures
after all), but it is a great way to find that special song.
Quick BuyHelp
Select this to get some help while you are browsing. If you are
reading this document you hopefully have all the help you need,
but you may find some additional tips in our help section.
Previewing Tones and Wallpaper
You want to hear it or see it before you purchase, well we make
that easy! Whenever you select a tone or wallpaper a little menu
comes up letting you preview or purchase the tone. Select preview
and you can hear or see what you are about to purchase. Keep in
mind the phone needs to download the content, so it will take a
couple of seconds but you will be sure you are buying exactly what
you wanted!
Purchasing Tones and Wallpaper
Found what you are looking for? Purchasing is easy. After you
select a tone or wallpaper a little menu will come up asking you
to preview or purchase. Select purchase and you will come up with
a confirmation screen letting you know what you are about to purchase
and how many credits you have remaining.
If everything looks good, press select and your new tone or wallpaper
will be downloaded and saved on your phone!
Using Your Tones
Ok, obviously the fun part is using your new content. Good news,
once you make a purchase you are just about done. The next step
is to exit the MIDIRingTones application by pressing the red end
key (don’t forget to keep coming back, we add new content daily!).
Press the menu button on your phone (the top button in the center)
and select ring styles. You will see the selected style (usually
“loud”). To change the ringtone for this style, cursor down to
Loud Detail and press change.
Now you need to figure out what ringtone you want to change. To
change the main ringer, cursor down to “Calls” and select change.
Now just scroll up and down, find the ringer you want and press
select. You are done! Enjoy what we hope is the hippest phone
on your block.
TIP: To find your downloaded tones
faster, scroll up when you are in the ringtone list. This will
quickly get you to the end of the list where the latest ringtones
are listed.
Using Your Wallpaper
You bought a pretty new picture, but now you want it shown on your
phone. Good news, once you made a purchase you are almost done.
The next step is to exit the MIDIRingTones application by pressing
the red end key (don’t forget to keep coming back, we add new content
daily!). Press the menu button on your phone (the top button in
the center) and select Media Center. You should see two choices,
select Picture Viewer.
Now just scroll up and down, find the wallpaper you want and press
select. To use the selected image, press the menu button and choose
“Set as Wallpaper” or “Set as Screensaver”. You are done! Enjoy
what we hope is the hippest phone on your block.
